You may tell your Arlo system what to do in different situations using modes and rules. When the motion sensor on a given camera is active, for example, you can programme your Arlo system to record a 30-second video and send you an email alert. How do these Arlo Modes and Arlo Rules Work? You have complete control over how and when your cameras respond to motion or sound with Arlo modes. For instance, you probably don't want to get a motion alert in the living room while you're performing yoga. Alternatively, you may wish to use a different mode when you're on vacation than when you're out shopping for an hour. Armed cameras are set to activate when motion is detected (and sound, if you are using Arlo Ultra, Pro series, Q series, or Go series cameras).
